Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Jamshid Kuchkarov met with JICA President Akihiro Tanaka.

On July 27 this year Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Kuchkarov met with the President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Akihiro Tanaka.

During the meeting, the Uzbek side highly appreciated the agency's contribution to the socio-economic development of Uzbekistan and its close cooperation within the framework of the Official Development Assistance program.

Constructive and meaningful negotiations covered a wide range of bilateral cooperation, including projects implemented with the support of JICA, and initiatives in the priority areas of relations - energy, technology, horticulture, healthcare, education and public administration.

The dialogue paid special attention to cooperation in the field of training specialists, and projects in small and midsize businesses(SMB).

The JICA leadership emphasized its support for strategic cooperation with Uzbekistan and expressed its readiness to participate in the implementation of new investment projects of Uzbek and Japanese companies.
