On December 11, 2025, a meeting was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Japan between the Director of the “El-yurt umidi” Foundation, Ms. G. Ismoilova, and Uzbek scholars studying at leading higher education institutions in Japan.

The meeting was attended by Foundation scholars studying at Kyoto, Osaka, Hosei, and Juntendo universities, as well as the Tokyo Institute of Science, including U. Yakhshimuradov, I. Hamdamov, N. and M. Ummatalieva, J. Juraev, B. Mutalov, and J. Qayumov.

During the discussion, it was emphasized that the reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan to support youth and enhance human capital potential are being carried out directly under the initiative and leadership of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Particular attention was drawn to the training of highly qualified specialists abroad as an integral part of this state policy.

Ms. Ismoilova noted that the “El-yurt umidi” Foundation serves as an important instrument in the implementation of this policy, acting as a bridge in supporting talented young people and channeling their knowledge and skills toward the country’s development.

The meeting also addressed issues related to increasing the contribution of specialists educated abroad to reforms in science, education, healthcare, and other sectors, introducing advanced international best practices, and establishing professional cooperation networks.

It was particularly highlighted that, within the framework of the “Uzbekistan — 2030” Strategy, priority objectives have been set, including the modernization of the education system, increasing the share of young researchers, providing financial support for scientific activities, and expanding quotas for doctoral and internship programs.

The scholars expressed their gratitude for the trust and support extended by the country’s leadership and reaffirmed their readiness to make a worthy contribution to the modernization and sustainable development of Uzbekistan in the future.
