The 25th Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) is scheduled for October 16-20 this year in Samarkand. For the first time in history, Uzbekistan will host the General Assembly, the most important biennial event in the UN family system.

The 25th Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) is scheduled for October 16-20 this year in Samarkand. For the first time in history, Uzbekistan will host this important biennial gathering of member states and affiliate members of UNWTO.

​Thirty years ago it was difficult to imagine the Rishtan district of the Fergana region as a territory of promising tourism. Today, the ranks of those wishing to visit this ancient city - the main pottery workshop of Uzbekistan - are expanding - both among local guests and foreign ones.

Over the past few years, the Uzbekistani government has made significant strides in enhancing the quality of its services and creating a welcoming environment to entice visitors from all corners of the globe. Consequently, Uzbekistan has emerged as one of the most alluring tourist destinations in the region.

From November 15 to 17, 2023, Tashkent will host the 28th Tashkent International Tourism Fair “Tourism on the Silk Road” TITF 2023.

The V Ministerial Conference was held as part of the international tourism exhibition Tourism EXPO Japan 2022 held in Tokyo. The conference is organized by the Japan Tourism Association JATA with the support of UNWTO (United Nations World Tourism Organization).

As part of the visit of the delegation of Uzbekistan to Japan, the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Aziz Abduhakimov held talks with the Vice President of the All Nippon Airlines (ANA) airline Junichiro Miyagawa. 

On 22 September, the International Exhibition "JATA Tourism Expo Japan 2022" began its work at the International Exhibition Center in Tokyo, Japan. In order to implement the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to create joint tourism programs on the principle of "One view - the whole region", the delegation of Uzbekistan participates in a single stand created in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Japan, Japan International Cooperation Agency.
