On the occasion of the national holiday "Nawruz", the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Japan, in collaboration with the Nanao International Relations Center and the "YOU-I" NGO, hosted a charity event for victims of the recent earthquake near the Noto Peninsula in January 2024. Held at the Yatago Community Center in Nanao, Ishikawa Prefecture, the event aimed to provide support and uplift the spirits of those affected.
Attendees were treated to traditional Uzbek cuisine including pilaf and dry fruits during both daytime and evening sessions. Entertainment featured performances of national songs and dances by Mashu Komazaki, a singer based in Japan, and the Gulistan dance ensemble.
Thanks to the generosity of the Uzbekistan textile and garment industry Association, textile products from Uzbekistan's "Sam Rafoat Tekstil" and "Haj Tex Group" factories were donated to the Evacuation Center, offering practical assistance to those in need.
As Nawruz symbolizes "Renewal and Rejuvenation" in our culture, we extend our heartfelt wishes for renewed life and peace to the Noto Peninsula community during this challenging time.
