2023 was a year full of very important events not only in Uzbekistan, but also in the world transport sector.

 

In November 2023, the world community celebrated the World Sustainable Transport Day for the first time at the Palace of Nations in Geneva. The UN General Assembly decided to declare November 26 as the World Sustainable Transport Day.

 

UN Secretary-General António Guterres's message on the occasion expressed concern: a quarter of all greenhouse gas emissions come from the transportation sector. Society needs to go green with electric vehicles and solar engines, renewable jet fuel production, large-scale investment in green public transportation systems, pricing emissions, and subsidizing low-carbon fuels.
