Uzbekistan and Italy Presidents Deliberate on Strengthening Strategic Partnership

The Presidents of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the Republic of Italy, Sergio Mattarella, engaged in bilateral talks at the "Koksaroy" residence.

At the onset of the meeting, the head of state extended a warm welcome to the distinguished guest, underscoring the significance of the Italian President's visit in advancing bilateral relations.

Sergio Mattarella expressed gratitude to the Uzbekistan President for the invitation and the gracious hospitality extended to the Italian delegation.

The Italian President affirmed his unwavering support for the ongoing irreversible reforms in New Uzbekistan. He commended Uzbekistan's efforts to maintain stability and enhance integration within Central Asia.

Discussions encompassed the further expansion of bilateral strategic partnerships and multilateral relations across priority sectors. Particular emphasis was placed on implementing agreements forged during the official visit of the Uzbekistan President to Italy in June of the current year.

Both leaders highlighted the importance of sustaining an active dialogue between parliaments and foreign political bodies. An agreement was reached to convene the inaugural meeting of the Strategic Dialogue at the level of heads of foreign political agencies in the coming year.
