Openness as Prerequisite and Essential Pillar of Reforms in the New Uzbekistan

Openness and transparency are considered among the most effective tools in the fight against corruption and its prevention. Thus, the efforts instigated in Uzbekistan to secure the rule of law, introduce effective forms of openness and transparency, establish genuine public control over the activities of government authorities have been gaining momentum as decisive and steadfast in nature.

IMPORTANT BACKBONE FOR EFFECTIVE COOPERATION

On its official website, the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) published recently the Final Report of the Election Observation Mission (EOM) on the Presidential Elections in the Republic of Uzbekistan that took place on 24 October 2021. In this regard, an OSCE/ODIHR delegation is expected in Uzbekistan with a visit to officially present the Report and discuss its aspects.

A well-known statesman and public figure, chairman of the Republican Foundation for the Support of Gifted Youth named after Ulugbek, academician Akil Salimov spoke about the deep historical roots of Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations, paying special attention to the high respect of the great son of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev, for the Uzbek people.
