The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, will be in Dushanbe on September 14-15, at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, to participate in the Consultative meeting of the leaders of the Central Asian countries and the summit of the International Fund for Saving the Island.

In recent years, Central Asian countries have established closer relationships with international organizations such as the United Nations.

In Uzbekistan, the processes of democratization of administration and decision-making are based on the will of the society. A large-scale transformation, launched in 2017, today covers all areas.

The southern border of Uzbekistan has undergone significant changes, resulting in a unique appearance. Even locals struggle to recognize their native areas due to the rapid and impressive transformation.

Recently, Uzbekistan has achieved two positive developments that have garnered widespread attention. Firstly, the country has improved its position by eight ranks in the UN's Sustainable Development Goals Index, reflecting its growing influence on the global stage. Secondly, Uzbekistan has secured the 30th spot in the Open Data Inventory (ODIN) rankings, making it the top-ranked country in Central Asia for open data.

The Samarkand will host the International Conference on Food Security on September 7-8. The conference will aim to address the global objective of achieving Zero Hunger by creating efficient pathways for food supplies between participating countries and beyond. It will also evaluate the current state of food security in Eurasian nations. Furthermore, the discussions will center around the challenges facing the agri-food system that impede the attainment of Sustainable Development Goals (2) and explore solutions to these problems.

In Uzbekistan, there is a huge potential for the utilization of renewable energy sources. According to the estimations of the International Energy Agency and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, Uzbekistan has a combined renewable energy potential of 2,091 billion kWh for electricity production, which is thirty times higher than the annual consumption. In recent years, there has been a significant focus on developing this potential.

Central Asia is home to a myriad of captivating countries, each with their own unique histories, cultures, and natural marvels. Uzbekistan is unquestionably among them. Over the past few years, the Uzbekistani government has made significant strides in enhancing the quality of its services and creating a welcoming environment to entice visitors from all corners of the globe. Consequently, Uzbekistan has emerged as one of the most alluring tourist destinations in the region. 

In 2016, the region's gross regional product amounted to 7.8 trillion soums. Last year, it reached 27.1 trillion soums and today its proprietary brands are rapidly developing.
