At the invitation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay a state visit to Azerbaijan on August 22-23.

In the updated Constitution of the country, we fixed that Uzbekistan is a constitutional state. Our common goal is to make the life of the people prosperous through ensuring justice and the rule of law.” In 2016, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, having assumed the duties of the President, laid this idea as the basis of fundamental changes that are being consistently implemented in life.

Large-scale administrative reforms have begun in Uzbekistan since 2017, by the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On approval of the concept of administrative reforms in the Republic of Uzbekistan”.

The geostrategic position of Uzbekistan determines its role in the development of the logistics potential of the region, together with the countries of Central Asia and Afghanistan. Currently, Afghanistan is gradually striving to become the centre of a new macro-region connecting Central and South Asia. However, without establishing stability in this country, it is extremely difficult to talk about its sustainable economic development and the entire region, the diversification of transport corridors and interconnectedness with South Asia.

  The Declaration of Independence and the commitment of the Government of Uzbekistan to the ideals of democracy, the choice of a secular path for the development of society gradually made it possible to create equal legal conditions for the existence of religions in general and religious groups in particular.
