One of the first acts that consolidated the legal foundations of the anti-corruption policy of the Republic of Uzbekistan is the law “On Combating Corruption”, adopted on January 3, 2017.

Today, Uzbekistan is taking confident steps towards the development of the ICT sector. 

According to World Bank research, the water resources in the Syrdarya basin may decrease by 2-5%, and in the Amudarya basin by 10-15% by the year 2050. In turn, the shortage of clean drinking water can lead to a decrease of the total gross domestic product of the region by 11%, and the uncoordinated use of water resources can cause the loss of at least 1.75 billion dollars annually. 

In November of this year, Uzbekistan's chairmanship in the Turkic States Organization (OTS) concluded. It was marked by significant achievements that played a substantial role in strengthening the country's international political and economic positions. Throughout its chairmanship, Uzbekistan actively promoted initiatives aimed at enhancing Turkic cooperation, developing trade and economic ties, and expanding mutually beneficial relations with member countries of the organization.

In recent years, Uzbekistan, having joined the Global Agenda for Sustainable Development and committed itself to ensuring sustainable and progressive economic growth, social inclusion and environmental protection in the face of climate change, has made significant progress in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. This indicates that in our country the attitude towards environmental issues has changed significantly: the legislative framework is being improved, new eco-thinking is being formed, and the ecological culture of the population is improving.

According to statistics, the average annual volume of electricity production in our country for the period 1991-2016 amounted to 43 billion kWh. And last year, 74.3 billion kW/h of electricity was produced, which is 2.3 billion kW/h more than in 2021.

Last year, 62.3 kW/h of electricity was supplied to consumers. This is 3.2 billion kilowatt hours, or 5.5 percent more than in 2021.

On December 19 at the invitation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani will pay a visit to Uzbekistan.

Uzbekistan places significant emphasis on combating violence against women and children.

The social and political activity of women and their participation in public administration bodies in the process of making important decisions are crucial for the development of the country. Sociological research has shown that women’s high efficiency, rapid and persistent decision-making, responsiveness to job completion, and prompt provision of executive discipline allow them to perform their duties effectively in the civil service.
