The main feature of a democratic society is the protection of human rights and the provision of equal opportunities for all in public life and administration. Gender equality is an essential component of this, as it ensures equal protection of rights and freedoms for individuals.

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres will visit Uzbekistan from 30 June to 1 July. This is his second visit to our country as UN chief.

On June 13-14, 2024, the IV Samarkand Forum on Human Rights took place in the ancient and eternally young city of Samarkand. This prestigious forum, held every two years since 2018 on the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at the UN General Assembly, was dedicated to the theme " Environmental Challenges: The Future of Human Rights in a Changing World, Finding Sustainable Solutions."
