The V Ministerial Conference was held as part of the international tourism exhibition Tourism EXPO Japan 2022 held in Tokyo. The conference is organized by the Japan Tourism Association JATA with the support of UNWTO (United Nations World Tourism Organization).

As part of the visit of the delegation of Uzbekistan to Japan, the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Aziz Abduhakimov held talks with the Vice President of the All Nippon Airlines (ANA) airline Junichiro Miyagawa. 

On 22 September, the International Exhibition "JATA Tourism Expo Japan 2022" began its work at the International Exhibition Center in Tokyo, Japan. In order to implement the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to create joint tourism programs on the principle of "One view - the whole region", the delegation of Uzbekistan participates in a single stand created in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Japan, Japan International Cooperation Agency.

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov met in Tokyo with President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Akihiro Tanaka. Issues of further expansion of bilateral cooperation in the field of tourism and cultural heritage were discussed at the meeting.

On 19 September, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev chaired a videoconference on measures to further increase the potential of domestic and inbound tourism.

On 6 September 2022, an Uzbek delegation based in Brussels, headed by Acting Foreign Minister Vladimir Norov, took part in the European Leaders Summit 2022 Global Tourism Forum organized by the World Tourism Forum Institute.

From 30 November to 2 December, Tashkent will host the 27th Tashkent International Tourism Fair "Tourism on the Silk Road" (TITF) 2022. 

A Presidential resolution "On measures to accelerate the development of cooperation with the Turkic states in the field of tourism" was adopted.

Recently, tourism as a socio-economic phenomenon has direct impact on the development of all related infrastructure. Tourism currently accounts for about 6% of the world’s gross domestic product, 7% of global investment, 11% of global consumer spending and 5% of all tax revenue.
